I didn’t know what I was getting into when I sketched this page out. I had already determined that I wanted Punk Saint to have a 2d animation inspired look but I hadn’t considered the complexities of having to pre-plan the placement of moving objects like people and vehicles on top of painted backgrounds.
And speaking of painting. It was a total bust. I ended up preferring relatively flat, inexpressive textures because of their ease. Time is not infinite and I’d rather get the work done than be painting forever. The backgrounds may not look significantly different in later sections but my process will be much different…. Much easier…
